Kindergarten trip to the Pumpkin Patch.

Last Friday was Joshua's first class trip and I was able to chaperone. Bella came as a tag-along and the kids had a blast. This place was huge. Lots of things to do. Joshua and Bella especially loved the giant hay stack with a sliding tube in it. By the time we left, we had hay everywhere.
I joined forces with another mom, and this was our group, minus Bella. The boys were Terrific.

They really liked the extra bumpy hayride.

Can you tell?

Autographing his pumpkin.

During lunch we kept being attacked by honey bees. No one was stung, but they were everywhere. The bees were slow, and the kids had a ball killing them.
Hey, I hate bugs, so I was not going to stop them.
Joshua picking corn.

The kids were yelling, CORN POWER!! Boys will make a sword out of anything.

Bella picking cotton. A southern thing to do I guess.
Joshua showing off his harvest. The one boy kept calling it his wool. he he he

Another attempt at the hay stack.
Our group before we left to the patch.
Bella was like one of the boys.

Tragedy....

We have been stricken by the RED RING OF DEATH!

Our X-box 360 got the dreaded red rings meaning system failure, which also means... we now own an expensive paper weight.

Well, expensive for other folks...

We got this x box last year right around Dwight's birthday weekend. He thought I was such a great wife for taking the plunge and spending that kind of money on a game console.

BUT, when he opened the box it came in, he quickly realized the cheap wife he was married to.
"Congratulations!" a little note said, "Enjoy your X-box compliments of Mt. Dew"

Uhhh... hunn? was his reaction, then OH YEAH!!!

All of those bottle caps he was saving forever... Those long arduous minutes he spent late at night typing the codes in on Mt. Dew.com... They had finally paid off.

It was one of the happiest day in Dwight's life.

So today, a little over a year later, we are dealing with this terrible tragedy.

So sad :( We had just gotten some new games too this past Saturday.

But there is SOME hope, thanks to the internet, some major gaming nerds, and a couple of towels.

We'll let you know the result.

Deann's Best Ever Pumpkin Bread

Thanks Deann for this delicious recipe. It was so easy to make.
We all know I am NOT a cook, or baker nor would I ever try to be one.
So even though this may be common knowledge to the rest of the world, and thanks to Jen's foil trick, the bread cooked all the way through in the middle and looked great when it was done.
Yes, I was very proud of myself. Typically stuff like this doesn't interest or excite me very much, but I was willing to do anything (yes, even bake) if it meant taking a break from the boxes!
I brought one of the breads to the ward trunk or treat & fall festival, and it was gone in seconds.
I will try to use chocolate chips next time... I didn't have any on hand (since I don't ever bake anything from scratch) I am sure it would be even yummier!

*BTW, I felt very Molly Mormon while baking... LOL!!

By Request...

WELCOME!
to our lovely little apartment.

This is only half as bad as it used to be.

Jen was a total nut and would not stop unpacking and moving things... I was begging her to stop! I guess it was payback when I was at her place 6 months ago when she moved. Darn karma!!
Our Bedroom... ughh

Yes, there is a kid somewhere in the middle of all of those boxes!!

At some point I guess I can do a before-after shot ;)

Early Thanksgiving.

Today marks our one week anniversary here in Chapel Hill. So much has happened already, it feels more like a month has gone by.

We're thankful for all of your prayers on our behalf, and for all of the last minute favors. We truly appreciate all the helping hands that were extended to us, and for the opportunity to see everyone one last time before we took off. Thank you friends and family. We miss you and think of you often. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories we made in PA.

Most of all we're thankful and happy to be together as a family.

*will post more about our transition later ;)

Going... going... Gone!

It is 3 AM Saturday morning and I am wired... We've emptied our house and Dwight is on his way to NC.
Our house is empty now and we're in Valley Forge with my sister until Sunday when I will make my way out to NC.

I will miss our house.

I will miss PA.

I will miss my family & friends.

I will write again when we're settled.

After leaving that nasty little post, I desperately needed some chocolate...

I went straight for the fridge where the jar of hot fudge was hidden waaaaaayyyy in the back.

I could not open the jar :(

Maybe it was Divine intervention, (Only heavens knows I would have eaten everything in that jar) or maybe, just maybe, I'm too weak from lack of exercise.

Still craving that darn hot fudge...

My thighs will thank me later.

Ughhh....

SELLING A HOUSE STINKS!!!!

Our closing date has been moved AGAIN.

I am so sick of all this.

Yes, we're still moving this weekend. :-S

Bella Art

Since I have packed most of the kids' toys away, entertainment now comes in the form of paper and Crayons.

Isabella misses Dwight very much, and when she isn't talking about him, she is drawing him.

Here are some samples of her most recent THERAPY session :)

This first one she called it "Daddy has a big head, and he's dancing."

This one she said, "Daddy loves me this much... He's got big eyes, and I am little" The last one is my absolute favorite. She said, "Daddy is strong and can pick me up"

How freakin' cute is that?!?!?
